I added Damian Phillips' series of books to my reference library about a year ago. I have enjoyed the years I have known Damian and his beautiful family. I managed to keep up with their travels and postings in various mid-west communities over the years. I rejoiced at the news of Damian's writings and quickly acquired his first five published books.
Damian's willingness to be a man of God is reflected in his writings. His style does not add or subtract from God's word but serves to amplify the scriptures. It is an easy read for the biblical scholar as it is for the new Christian. You will find quote after quote and biblical references galore. If you are searching for a systematical way to study God's Word, these books were written with you in mind.

(Masters Thesis) This work examines the exchange of wisdom between ancient Egypt and Israel, in light of the literary relationship between the Instruction of Amenemope and the "Sayings of the Wise" in Proverbs. Research has been conducted on Egyptian and Israelite scribal schools, and the use of common instructional materials within these academies. The two possible avenues for the exchange of wisdom are through scribes serving as international messengers, and the adoption of literature and texts through elite emulation.
