(More customer reviews)As a scholar of Ojibway and Cree legends and myths, I am extremely impressed with the accuracy and quality of this picture book version of the Origin of Seasons by an elder with firm roots in traditional storytelling. Unlike other, oversimplified, picture book adaptations of this myth, Murdo Scribe's rendering brings out the complexities of the authentic story. Terry Gallagher's detailed black and white illustrations are delightful. This is a must book for teachers and others wishing to share Native American mythology with children.
