I have a 25 pack of Philips DVD+R media purchased 01/24/08 and so far every single disc has failed to burn properly. 100% Failure rate out of 5 discs burned.
I have tested different files on each disc, using THREE different DVD burners, ONE OF WHICH IS A PHILIPS BRAND BURNER, and yet every single one is a failure upon verifying the data after the burn.
Windows reports "Bad blocks" in the media when I try to copy files off them.
Philips DVD+R website advertising boasts the claim "Reliable qualified media ensures you data will be preserved". For me this has not been true.
I have years of experience as a computer network administrator and I am very familiar with burning DVDs. In my case, all 3 of my DVD burners can successfully burn DVDs from other brands without any issue. It is only this Philips DR4L6B25F/17 that has caused 100% failure rate. It must be a bad batch of discs.
I contacted Philips and their response was, these discs have no warranty. Thanks for nothing, Philips!
