(More customer reviews)Do not know why this later model is cheaper than the others. Got it, plugged in, downloaded latest firmware, and tested it out. CD @ 3 min, DVD @ 6min. Lightscribe took 19 min, I used a photo to see the quality. I got this to replace the one in the laptop which has slowed down. For less money than an internal you get a lot more speed. I burn media at home so it is of no issue that it is external.
